Have a Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park this year, as Yorkshire's most unique attraction welcomes guests for a blend of active outdoor fun, theatre, magical illuminations and unique sculpture. Enter the Enchanted Forest and you'll discover a world of fairytale creatures lurking around every corner. The Forest is packed with hand-made sculptures and interactive features, including beautiful illuminations and sounds that greet guests as they walk through the Forest. Throughout Christmas the four Adventure Zones will feature a variety of activities, including the only artificial Nordic ski trail in the UK, an outdoor skating rink, illuminated Yew tree maze, plus a giant witch's hat and T-pot slide!

Eat, drink, shop and get creative with all the family this Christmas at The Hepworth Wakefield. See the new ranges for autumn/winter in their shop, including exclusive collaborations, ideal gifts for Christmas. See the award-winning ice-sculpting experts, Glacial Art demonstrating their skills by recreating Barbara Hepworth sculptures in the gallery garden and join in the many adult and family friendly workshops, from wreath-making to paper sculpturing!

Sing-a-long at Churches Conservation Trust this Christmas at one of the many Christmas carol concerts and services! You can get into the spirit of Christmas and donate to a great cause helping them save these precious buildings. Visit their events page and find out what's happening near you.

The Ice Factor at Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland is one of York's favourite Christmas attractions and this year is, once again, the centrepiece for this exciting festive event. This year, The Ice Factor, will return to their usual home at York Designer Outlet from 22nd November to 4th January with the North of England's largest outdoor ice rink, traditional funfair and the new PapaKitchen at The Ice Factor bar and café.

Think of a nostalgic winter's scene on a traditional Christmas card..... The chances are that ice-skating will stir up a festive aspiration or a magical memory for many and in recent years it's grown in popularity once again. This winter, from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th December, The Black Swan, Helmsley is creating a ‘pop-up ice rink'. With a winter-wonderland theme, glistening ice, smart white picket fence and Christmas trees surround, it will truly be a picture-perfect setting; a seasonal spectacle to enchant both adults and children alike. Open each day from 12 noon until 8pm, the rink will be 12 metre square, plenty of room to accommodate fifty skaters at any one time.

Make Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal your Christmas tradition. Escape the hustle and bustle of the high street and spend quality family time with friends and family this Christmas. Meet Father Christmas, post him a letter, make a decoration and find the cast of the Twelve Days of Christmas hidden in the grounds. Experience Music & Lights and see the abbey lit with rainbow colours and hear live music and carols in the cellarium. Wrap up warm for winter walks, or go ‘On the Hoof' and get a bit close to the deer as they munch their feed. Or why not get into the festive spirit by joining a wreath making workshop or tucking into a festive lunch in the restaurant.

Park Lodge in East Yorkshire will be running a packed Christmas programme for 2014, which this year starts with the launch of a series of Christmas Display demonstrations by renowned creative designer Delise Thorp. Former florist Delise will be at Park Lodge for five sessions only, showing guests how to put some ‘wow' into their Christmas displays. From extra special table dressings to fabulous garlands and wreaths, Delise will demonstrate how to add those special touches to make your Christmas sparkle!

The Craft Centre and Design Gallery has seven showcases to dazzle visitors this Christmas as well as the usual great stocking fillers and unique gifts for loved ones to choose from. Jewellery, ceramics, limited edition prints, glass, wood and textiles all handmade by the very best of UK designer makers in a unique visitor experience away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Now open every day up to Christmas Eve. 

Aladin at Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough. Come with Aladdin and Princess Badroulbadour on a whirlwind adventure as Andrew Pollard's family Christmas fantasy delivers a modern twist on a traditional tale.

For the gifts that you just can't buy anywhere else, Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre's extensive shop is full of locally sourced goodies, including
a range of real ales, fine wines, biscuits, crackers and chutneys - you can even make up your own unique hamper full of Wensleydale cheese goodies.

A Christmas Carol at Brodsworth Hall - Actor Chris Cade brings to life this Dickens' classic. Scrooge meets the unusual Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, but will he repent in time for Christmas, or is Scrooge doomed to a life of misery? This performance takes us through Dickens' classic novel and makes it easily accessible for young and old alike. Wrap up warm and sample English Heritage's own range of liqueurs and seasonal treats too. Also a Brodsworth Hall, don't miss their Christmas Choirs. Enjoy seasonal festive singing with fine Yorkshire choirs in the entrance hall at Brodsworth.

Edwardian Christmas at Kiplin Hall. 28 November. December 1913, the last Christmas before the outbreak of the First World War. Friends, volunteers and local groups dress the Hall for this most opulent celebration of Christmas. The dining-room is set for Christmas lunch, and the candles lit for this very special occasion.

Get in to the festive spirit at The Deep by making festive ornaments, calendars for 2015 and make your very own badge, have your face painted and follow our Christmas trail to be in with the chance of winning a special prize! Visit the temporary art exhibit by The Robert Fuller Gallery showcasing images and videos from a recent trip to the Galapagos Islands too.

Join the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Santa specials at Oxenhope, Haworth or Keighley Stations for a ten-mile return journey on our steam train, lasting around an hour. Experience nostalgia and the magic of Christmas in our specially decorated coaches, with festive music to get you into the mood. Santa and his pixies visit each child during the journey, delivering presents and the grown-ups are served with a mince pie and seasonal drink: the perfect way for you and your family to start the Christmas season.

Try out "Santa, Elves and Sleigh Bells" at Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre: Experience a classic Christmas at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre! Visit the nativity scene in the cosy stable, meet friendly farm animals and take a peek in the manger. Hitch a ride aboard a magical sleigh on your way to meet Father Christmas in his enchanting grotto. Sip a warming glass of mulled wine, sample delicious hot chocolate and homemade festive goodies, then browse a selection of festive stocking fillers in the Jungle Gift Shop.

Get yourself along to one of the many great Yorkshire pantomimes. Some suggestions would be York Theatre Royal, City Varieties in Leeds, Theatre Royal Wakefield, Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, Victoria Theatre in Halifax, Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre or the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.

There's festive fun for all the family at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds this Christmas. The museum will be transformed into a Victorian Winter Wonderland with Christmas Crafts and Wintery guided talks and tours. A Victorian style Santa's Grotto will open its doors every weekend and Santa, wearing a traditional green, Victorian costume will invite each good little girl and boy to pick a present.

Harlow Carr has a magical series of events for the whole family this Christmas. Why not decorate your own ginger bread man, write and post your letter to Santa before he leaves for the North Pole and see if you can spot the hidden presents around the garden in Santa's Secret Trail. Wrap up warm and make a day of it with plenty of gift ideas in the shop and yummy treats at Bettys Café & Tearooms.

Christmas at Lakeside Village: From the 22nd of November and throughout December children are invited on a magical trip to visit Free Santa's grotto and receive a free chocolate treat, meet real reindeers, take part in Christmas face painting, hunt for gifts on the reindeer trail treasure hunt and stand in a sparkly giant winter wonderland snow globe and take away a seasonal snap.

SNO!zone Castleford has a 170metre long slope that is covered with over 1500 tonnes of fresh snow, as well as a dedicated lesson slope for beginners and novices to build their skills and confidence before progressing onto the main slope. Youngsters and the young at heart will love whizzing down the slopes on daily tobogganing and ice slide sessions.

Explore, Shop, Eat and be Merry this Christmas at Castle Howard. From the elegant decorations and music in the House, to festive food, gifts and audiences with Father Christmas, there is something for everyone this Christmas at Castle Howard.
